China Final of Mrs Globe Contest Kicks off in Beijing

Organizers staged the 22nd China Finals at the Water Cube in Beijing on November 18.
Some 66 outstanding wives showcased the charm and strengths of Chinese married women at the event.
Founded in 1996, the contest was held to promote the development of charitable causes; raise awareness on women's rights; actively organize social welfare activities; provide help and care to vulnerable groups; and, transfer "the positive energy of truth, goodness and beauty in society".
Meanwhile, the contest has enhanced exchanges and interactions in the field of women's culture in various countries, and further promoted peace and development of the world.
The contest also highlighted the warmth and national role of the family, which has exerted an enormous influence on .
The versatile contestants performed singing, tea dancing, calligraphy and painting at the event.
Li Yunxuan, Mrs Globe Global Executive President, delivered a speech and introduced the contest. She said it provided a platform for outstanding married women to reveal their external as well as their inner beauties.
Wang Leilei, a visually impaired mother of two boys, won the Special Award of the contest and the Goodwill Ambassador Award. Ina Marciulionyte, the Lithuanian ambassador to China, also attended and praised the event.
Chen Shu, a mother of twins who comes from north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, said, "Thanks to the contest, I can show myself on the best stage and at my best. I will further improve myself in pursuit of truth, goodness and beauty as always."
The winners of the contest have greatly contributed to its reputation by constantly participating in charity events. The initiative has also been recognized by many political figures and won the support of the UN Women.
